Airport road reopened after being cut-off to protest arrest of Wissam Alaeddine

Young men cut off the airport road with burning tires Wednesday in protest of the arrest of Wissam Alaeddine, causing a nightmarish traffic. Alaeddine was arrested on Monday on charges of attacking Al Jadeed TV.

Security forces managed to reopen the road immediately and organized patrols to tour the region.

Earlier on Wednesday, young men rallied outside the building of Future TV in Spears street in Beirut, attempting to burn tires and cut off the road in protest of the arrest of Alaeddine. An LAF unit rushed to the scene and managed to reopen the road.

Al Jadeed TV came under fire on Monday evening as four hooded men opened fire outside the TV station and threw Molotov bombs, causing a fire at the building’s entrance.

The ISF’s Information Division managed to arrest Wissam Alaeddine, one of the perpetrators.
