Sleiman, Mikati: communications data key item on agenda

PM Najib Mikati, who is currently in Germany, called on Friday President Michel Sleiman, and decided to hold a cabinet session next Monday, where the communications data and the budget will be the main items on the agenda.

Earlier in the day, President Sleiman received MP Boutros Harb at the Baabda Palace, following the latter's escape from an assassination attempt which targeted him. Harb informed Sleiman of the information available regarding the assassination attempt.

Sleiman stressed that the judicial and security authorities have received the strict instructions to work on revealing the circumstances of this case.

In this context, the general director of the Internal Security Forces, General Ashraf Rifi, stressed that the investigations are intensified to uncover the perpetrators.

An explosive device was found inside the elevator of MP Boutros Harb’s office building at Sami el-Solh Boulevard on Thursday.
