PM Hariri: There is political agreement on fighting corruption

Prime Minister Saad Hariri asserted on Sunday that the regional situation should not affect the economic situation in Lebanon, adding that the Cedre reforms must be implemented soon.

Speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Hariri noted that the most important thing that it is been carried out today is encouraging the investors to come to Lebanon.

“I want Beirut to be like Dubai,” he added.

Hariri lamented the fact that Lebanon suffers from corruption and waste of public funds, adding howver that there is a political agreement on fighting corruption.

As for the Syrian refugees crisis, Hariri said that the refugees must not be blamed for all the problems that Lebanon is facing.

“They come back to their country one day,” he added.

On another note, Hariri asserted that newly appointed Minister of Interior Raya al-Hassan will make real reforms in the Interior Ministry, adding that women in Lebanon and the Arab world are able to do their job better than men.
