Speaker Nabih Berri said that the recent US sanctions targeting a head of a parliamentary bloc, an MP and a party official is an attack against the Lebanese parliament and all of Lebanon, calling on the International Parliamentary Union to take the necessary stance over “this irrational behavior.”
In a statement, Berri asked: “Has the US democracy assumed the role of 'presuming' and 'imposing' attacks against world democracies?”
