Security sources told LBCI that the protesters in al-Baddawi prevented two vehicles from passing, which caused a dispute to erupt between them and the passengers of the vehicles, adding that when the Lebanese army forces interfered, they were hit with rocks, injuring five soldiers.
The sources added that the army fired tear gas, but the protesters continued throwing rocks and firecrackers at the soldiers, “this is when the army opened fire in the air then fired rubber bullets toward the demonstrators, injuring a number of them,” according to the same sources.
