Aoun responds to Geagea: From now on, we're not concerned for joint action
MP Alain Aoun held both the Kataeb and the Lebanese Forces responsible for losing the historical opportunity for Christians to improve representation at Parliament.

In a press conference he held to respond to the stances of Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on the electoral law, Aoun warned the Lebanese Christians who are, according to him, "procrastinating in order to go back to the 1960s electoral law."

Aoun considered that both the Kataeb and Lebanese Forces are ordered to waste time to impose the 1960s law as a status quo in the upcoming elections.

Aoun said that those calling for more time to conduct further consultations are practically hindering the work of the joint committees to look into the proportionality law based on medium-sized districts and the Orthodox Gathering draft.

"From now on, we are not concerned by any joint action", Aoun said adding that while he has no problem meeting with people who have different political views, he refuses to meet with those who "lie to him".
