Yammine to LBCI: Al-Sharaa’s statements are nothing new

Marada Movement Political Bureau Member Vera Yammine said on Monday that the latest statements made by Syrian Vice President Farouk Al-Sharaa concerning the incapacity of both the Syrian regime and the opposition of taking a decisive step in the Syrian crisis is nothing new, although reports emerged of a possible settlement.            

Yammine told Nharkom Said that the opposition in Syria is fragmented, pointing that the US President Barack Obama recognized the Syrian opposition coalition, but blacklisted Jibhat al-Nusra and categorized it as a terrorist organization.            

In this context, Yammine stressed that there is a shift in the interpretation related to the Syrian crisis, since Damascus has proved its ability to withstand the crisis, pointing that the opposition must be constructive rather than armed.
