REPORT: Israel possibly involved in Ter Haifa explosion, Sth of Lebanon

When asked whether Israel was behind the explosion that took place at 'what was said to be' a weapons depot in the Lebanese southern town of Ter Harfa, the Israeli air force commander Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel abstained from answering.       

As all the Israelis do, he said neither yes, nor no; but warned Hezbollah as he noted: "Whoever sleeps next to rockets, will never be safe." He also called for dismantling Hezbollah's rocket arsenal and eliminating its risks, and criticized the International Community for standing idly by.            

Speaking before Israeli Military reporters, Eshel bragged about the capabilities of his air forces, stressing that they use accurate intelligence information in the operations aiming at eliminating any threats against his country.               

In this context, the Israelis considered Eshel's reaction to the question about Lebanon's explosion as a confession confirming his responsibility of the attack, especially after launching other threats to Syria concerning chemical weapons. Accordingly, he said that his forces are focusing their preparations to abolish the chemical weapons depots and to face various potential scenarios that might take place after the fall of the Syrian regime.                 

After speaking of the achievements of the air force during the "Pillar of Cloud" Operation [launched against the Gaza Strip from the 14th till the 21st of November 2012], Eshel said that this operation acts as a warning to all those who plan to hit Israel or threaten it.
