Anti-government protests in Jordan

At least 600 people participated in a protest organized on Friday by the Islamic Movement, to topple the government of Prime Minister Abdallah al-Nassour, expressing their rejection for the results of the latest parliamentary elections.

The protesters marched from the Grand Husseini Mosque, central Amman, chanting slogans and raising banners against the government and the Prime Minister.

Protests were also organized in many other regions like Al Tafila, Al Karak, Maan and Irbid.

The elections held on the 23rd of January led to the victory of the state’s loyalists with 150 seats in Parliament, while the Islamic Movement doubted the results and accused the government of fraud and vote-buying.
