Aley jail prisoner threatens to commit suicide, demands meeting judge

The state run National News Agency reported on Friday that 40-year-old Syrian prisoner Saher Ahmed Dukhan, sneaked into the kitchen of Aley prison and threatened to commit suicide by stabbing himself with a knife unless a judge agrees to meet with him.

The prisoner told the jail personnel that he had received death threats from Fatah Islam inmates, for claims that he had witnessed the Islamist group murdering a Roumieh prisoner before he was transferred into the Aley prison.

He vowed to reveal crucial information if his own security and safety were guaranteed and his sentence reduced.

The concerned authorities were notified of the incident in order to take the necessary procedures.
