Sheikh Abdel Amir Qabalan urges Lebanese people to distance themselves from sedition
The deputy head of the Higher Shiite Islamic Council, Sheikh Abdel Amir Qabalan urged on Sunday the Lebanese people to distance themselves from sedition and to support the Lebanese army.

Sheikh Qabalan's comments were made during his sermon on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

“We should steer clear of conspiracies and sedition,” he added.

In early August, the Sunni extremists from the al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State group overran the border town of Arsal from Syria, capturing soldiers and policemen.

Two of the soldiers have since been beheaded and one has been killed.
