Lebanon declares Monday a national day of mourning for Chirac
Prime Minister Saad Hariri issued on Friday a memorandum declaring a national day of mourning in Lebanon for late French President Jacques Chirac.
“On the occasion of the death of Lebanon’s friend President Chirac, an official day of mourning will be observed during the burial ceremony on Monday September 30, 2019,” the statement said.
“Flags will be lowered and TV and radio stations are urged to air programs and shows that suit the sad occasion,” the statement added.
