Crowds flooded the streets of Khan Younis late Wednesday, chanting and dancing in celebration after Israel and Hamas agreed to the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the Gaza war.

Videos showed residents cheering as news of the agreement spread across the city.

Many described the moment as “historic,” expressing cautious optimism that the deal could mark the beginning of the end to months of bloodshed and devastation in the Gaza Strip.
