IMF: Gaza peace agreement provides opportunity for lasting economic recovery

Petya Kuiva-Brooks, deputy chief economist at the International Monetary Fund, said Tuesday that the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, which ended a two-year armed conflict in Gaza, provides an opportunity for lasting economic recovery in the region.

She added that the IMF is ready to cooperate with the international community to revive Gaza and the regional economies severely affected by the conflict, including Egypt and Jordan.
