Berri: General Authority session to be held from the 1st till 3rd of July

       
House Speaker Nabih Berri chaired on Wednesday a joint meeting for the Parliament’s Bureau and the heads and rapporteurs of committees and discussed with them means of improving the parliament’s work after extending its mandate.

In this regard, sources told LBCI that a General Authority session will be held at the beginning of the coming month (July).                     

Following the meeting, MP Farid Makari said that discussions were mainly related to the parliament’s work, the General Authority session, and its agenda.   MP Makari added that General Authority sessions may be held on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of July.               

Earlier, Lebanese deputies held a meeting in Ain el-Tineh with Speaker Berri where they quoted him as saying that he is willing to change the structure of the Parliamentary Communications Committee to become a Parliamentary-Ministerial Committee.          

The MPs also quoted Berri as saying that the Lebanese parties should expedite the formation of the new government in light of the current phase that Lebanon is going through, adding that he will hold a parliamentary General Authority session to settle the series of ranks and salaries.
