Roman Orthodox Archdiocese under attack
The Roman Orthodox Archdiocese  located in Ashrafiye was attacked by unknown assailants on Tuesday night who broke the doors of the Archdiocese stole valuable items and sabotaged the content.   

The priests and the staff working at the place were surprised on Wednesday upon their arrival of the unfamiliar image, all doors were racked, cups, church icons, money and valuable documents were stolen as well as the batons held by the priests during the masses.

The thieves open safes in the archbishopric, and threw the papers and documents on the ground. The Internal Security Forces were called to the crime scene and started their investigations to arrest the attackers.

PM Najib Mikati and Interior Minister Marwan Charbel addressed the Roman Orthodox Bishop Elias Audi to confirm that the concerned authorities will intensify their efforts and investigations and reveal the identity of the responsible persons.

Speaker Nabih Berri called Audi and expressed in his name and the rest of the parliament their regrets for such actions and promised to help revealing the criminals’ identities.
