Army Command: Online videos are a fabrication

The Army Command issued on Thursday a statement in which it criticized what it said were the "fabricated" videos being shared on social media platforms regarding the military institution.

"Whilst troops were fighting an armed group, calling for Jihad against the army and working on inciting sectarian strife in the country, the LAF also had to face a media and a political battle."

The statement noted that any security violation carried out against LAF troops will be investigated in the military court for the appropriate measures.

The army command also voiced its regret on the "low level" that some Lebanese media outlets have reached.

The statement vowed that any further security or verbal attacks on the LAF will be strongly reprimanded, adding that the army command will not hesitate to resort to the Lebanese courts if need be.
