REPORT: Two bombs explode on Zahle highway

The state-run National News Agency reported on Friday that two bombs exploded at dawn on the highway of Zahle city, without causing any casualties.

The agency added that security forces and military experts rushed to the scene and launched investigations into the incident.

LBCI correspondent in Zahle, Nayef Darwish, said that the bombs were targeting a convoy for Hezbollah heading towards Syria.

The convoy opened fire in the air following the explosion of the bombs

In a similar event, a bomb reportedly exploded Monday 10th of June, on the Taanayel international road leaving a half meter deep crater.

Security sources had told LBCI the blast targeted a white minivan and a BMW with dark-tinted windows.

The sources added that men on board of the minivan were reportedly injured and mentioned that they signed their border crossing documents at the Masnaa checkpoint prior to entering the Syrian territories.
