REPORT: Abboud launches 2013 Ehmej Festivals

Caretaker Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud released Thursday the 4-day program of the 2013 Ehmej Festivals, which will be inaugurated on the 22nd of August with artistic performances by singers including Rami Ayash, Fares Karam, Hayfa Wehbe and Wael Kfoury.

"Although the tourism sector is critical, it should be dealt with positively," Abboud noted.

"Give us clam and tranquility, and you will get what astounds the region on al-Fitr holiday," he added.

On another note, the caretaker minister met with the Iraqi ambassador to Lebanon Raad al-Allousi and discussed the new measures taken in order to facilitate the arrival of the Iraqi tourists to Lebanon. The measures include the annulment of several conditions imposed to obtain a visa, as well as increasing the number of flights from Iraq to Beirut to 8 flights per day.
