Hand grenade explodes near school in Akkar

An explosion erupted on Wednesday morning near the official school of Rawda in the town of Bazbina, Akkar, northeastern Lebanon.

The blast occurred as school employees and janitors were setting ablaze neighboring bushes that had gone dry, but no injuries were reported.

A patrol of the Lebanese Armed Forces Intelligence Bureau rushed to the scene of the explosion and found three buried hand grenades near the school.

Investigations were launched to reveal the circumstances behind the incident.
