Fletcher meets with Mikati, vows additional aid to LAF

The British ambassador to Lebanon Tom Fletcher stressed on Wednesday that his country will provide the Lebanese Armed Forces with more support in terms of equipment, noting that the Lebanese army will be granted an additional amount of 15 million dollars in order to fulfill its duties.

Following his meeting with Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the Grand Serail, Fletcher pointed out that his country will also be providing 75 million dollars to Lebanon in a bid to alleviate the burden resulting from the rise in influx of the Syrian refugees.

In this regard, Fletcher voiced his support to Lebanon's coexistence and stability, calling on the Lebanese parties to reach common ground should a new government be formed.
