Future bloc: Syrian regime cannot protect Christians in both Syria and Lebanon

The Future bloc held on Tuesday its weekly meeting in which it tackled the latest developments in Lebanon and the entire region.

Following the meeting, MP Atef Majdalani read a statement on behalf of the bloc, in which he urged the International Community to assume its responsibly and stop the ongoing bloodshed carried out by the Syrian regime against its people.

The bloc also accused the regime of using chemical weapons and committing "crimes against humanity."

MP Majdalani slammed the attack on the ancient Christian town of Maaloula in Syria, adding that the Syrian regime "cannot protect Christians both in Syria and Lebanon."

On Lebanon, the bloc condemned the self-imposed security procedures carried out in several Lebanese regions, in reference to Hezbollah, adding that such acts show the weakness of the state's authority.
