Sleiman heads to New York for UN session

President Michel Sleiman left Beirut on Sunday heading to New York and presiding over the Lebanese delegation to the UN General Assembly’s 68th session where he will chair the meeting of the International Support Group for Lebanon.            

The president is accompanied by his wife, First Lady Wafaa Sleiman, caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Samir Moqbel, caretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour, caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour and a delegation of administrative, security and media figures.          

Sleiman is set to deliver a speech on Tuesday at midnight (Beirut Time), and will hold meetings at the sidelines of the conference with US President Barack Obama, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Jordanian King Abdullah II, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and other officials.
