Minister Charbel says developing Tripoli may not be achieved in the absence of security

Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel said on Wednesday that security apparatuses have taken control of all Hezbollah checkpoints across various Lebanese regions.

Prior to the meeting of the Central Security Council, Minister Charbel said that Tripoli’s security plan aims at protecting the northern Lebanese city, adding that developing the city may not be achieved in the absence of security.

On another note, Minister Charbel said that Internal Security Forces will not deal with the issue of construction violations, urging them to proceed with their duties related to maintaining the country’s security.

In this context, Minister Charbel said that municipalities are tasked with following up on construction violations adding that they may ask for support from security forces.
