Nahas: FPM aims to achieve wage adjustment issue
Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas said that State Shoura Council might nullify the new decision of wage increase just as it annulled the previous one because it carries the same flaws.

Speaking to "Voice of Lebanon" radio station, Nahhas reminded that the last wage increase was in 1996, pointing out that all wage increases since 1995 until now had been illegal.

Commenting on Hezbollah's educational committee support to the call for demonstration and strike, Nahhas considered that the step came within the frame of responding to popular remarks. He pointed out that "Change and Reform" bloc would study all the cabinet's sessions before assembly to decide whether to take part in them or not, stressing that the bloc's target is currently fulfilling people's demand so as the wage increase would be real without any basic flaws.

He added that wages should be under control and health coverage, funded by taxes, should be provided to all Lebanese. Nahhas explained that this step came within the frame of the economic regime structural adjustment which would also create new work opportunities for the young Lebanese to prevent them from immigration.

Commenting on the increase of gasoline and fuel prices, Nahhas pointed out that studies are taking place to find a suitable formula to treat that issue
