Maronite Bishops Council calls for holding presidential elections on due time

The Maronite Bishops Council urged on Wednesday the international community to work on revealing the fate of the 12 Orthodox Christian nuns who were abducted in Syria's Maaloula.

During its monthly periodic meeting presided by Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai, the Council stressed that "Lebanon is a hostage to international conflicts," noting that the presidential elections should be held on their due time.

The Council also stressed the need to swiftly agree on a new electoral law for the parliamentary elections and to form a new government that shall fulfill its duties.
