Harb: Hezbollah's weapon slaughter national unity

Leading March 14 figure Boutros Harb, regarded so-called Orthodox Gathering proposed electoral law project conducive to a re-launched national dialogue.

Harb in an interview to Hariri's Paris-based Orient) radio station, stressed the existence of a thin thread still connecting the opposition to Mikati-led government. He added that as yet, there is no total rupture with the government.

With reference to Hezbollah weapons he indicated that any arms outside state control would be absolutely unjustifiable and that holding onto them means practical slaughtering of national unity.

Harb rejected the Christian Maronite committee on account of excluding independent representation. He concluded that Hezbollah finds itself in a delicate spot with its Syrian backers pretty much nearing their end and, criticized Aoun's attitude towards the appointment of judges saying he effectively undermined the juridical system by turning magistrates into pawns in an ongoing struggle.
