Berri calls for lifting GCC sanctions imposed on Lebanon

House Speaker Nabih Berri asked on Sunday the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah to work in order to decrease the gap between Arabs and Muslims as well as between Iranian and Saudis, calling on him to lift the travel ban imposed on gulf citizens who want to visit Lebanon.  

In his official visit to Kuwait, Berri discussed the dossier of Syrian and Palestinian refugees, expressing his gratitude to the initiatives taken by Kuwait to support Lebanon.  

“The number of Lebanese citizens to Syrians now stands at a ratio of one to two refugees,” Berri exclaimed.   

For his part, the Emir of Kuwait said he is putting forth all his efforts to aid Lebanon is different fields, stressing that lifting GCC sanctions off Lebanon will be taken into consideration.   

Berri’s official visit to Kuwait commenced by talks with the Kuwaiti Emir in the presence of the Crown Prince of Kuwait Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber at the Bayan Palace.
