Amal Movement MP Qobeissi files complaint against ABL head

Lawyer Ali Rahhal representing Amal Movement MP Hani Qobeissi filed on Friday a complaint against the head of the Association of Banks in Lebanon for accusing lawmakers of theft and embezzlement of public funds.

Francois Bassil warned in remarks to An Nahar daily on Friday of a “revolution against politicians who have led Lebanon to bankruptcy.”

“The hike in taxes on deposit interest revenue will not have a direct impact on banks,” Bassil said, adding that “the measure would take a toll on new investments and deposits.”
