Escape attempt staged by Fatah al-Islam prisoners foiled

Security Forces foiled an attempt staged by three Syrian inmates to escape Roumieh prison.

The three prisoners were: Omar Ballan accused of terrorism, Mohamad Al Sheikh Uthman and Hamza Kuwaider both affiliated to Fatah al-Islam.

They were trying to escape from the rooftop The ISF have since cordoned off the area amid strict security measures.

The prisoners attempted to escape the jail from the roof, taking advantage of the positive atmosphere that pervaded the compound on the occasion of New Year’s, the NNA reported.
