Higher Islamic Council underscores need to avoid presidential void

The Higher Islamic Council (HIC) stressed on Saturday the need to elect a new president within the constitutional deadlines in order to avoid presidential vacuum.

The HIC called for the election of "a president who clings to national principles and has an honorable national experience".

On another note, the council condemned attacks against the Lebanese army in Arsal’s barren range and other areas, reiterating its call for supporting the army and the security forces.
