Israeli army carries out roadwork along border with Lebanon

The Israeli army kicked off on Wednesday morning roadworks along the barbed wire fence that separates the Jewish state from Lebanon, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Rail road excavators and bulldozers escorted by 3 armored vehicles and over 20 Israeli troops began paving roads near the towns of Adaisseh and Kfarkila at 9:00 am, the agency said.

Israeli helicopters conducted flights over the occupied Shebaa Farms, the Golan heights and nearby regions.

Lebanese officials have constantly denounced ongoing Israeli breaches against Lebanon, which is still technically at war with its southern neighbor.

On Saturday, Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil asked the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations in New York to file an "urgent" complaint to the UN Security Council over the Israeli violation which took place last Sunday.

Bassil said the Israeli aggression was a blatant violation to the country's sovereignty and UN resolution 1701.

Israeli troops crossed on May 11 the Blue Line in the al-Labbouneh border area, uprooted trees and lifted cement blocks that belong to the Lebanese Armed Forces.
