Security forces arrest fake Red Cross volunteers
The Internal Security Forces Directorate General declared Tuesday that the Information bureau arrested two citizens, who were identified only by their initials as M. Q. and M. M., for posing as volunteers of the Lebanese Red Cross to collect donations in the region of Zouk Mosbeh.

The security forces seized a sum of money that was in their possession.

Later on, the Lebanese Red Cross issued a statement whereby it clarified that a number of persons, who claim to be members of the association, are visiting houses and institutions to collect donations.

In this regard, the Red Cross urged citizens to confirm the identity of those persons who should possess the association’s official card.

The Red Cross also said it reserves right to file a complaint against anyone who claims to be a volunteer, under any circumstances.
