Prime Minister Tammam Salam said Thursday that the fight against terrorism is a difficult mission, noting that accomplishing it requires “boosting the country's immunity, committing to the policy of disassociation and supporting the legitimate armed forces.”
In a speech he delivered on the occasion of Independence, Salam called on the parties to positively address any new initiative presented by a party in a bid to end the current political deadlock.
In this context, the prime minister stressed the need to elect a new president as soon as possible, noting that “it has become clear that standing by hard-lined positions will only lead to a dead-end.”
