Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq revealed Sunday that the preliminary information indicate that the Islamic State is behind the attack that targeted a café in the region of Jabal Mohsen in the northern city of Tripoli on Saturday night.
He explained that cooperation is ongoing between all security apparatuses to face the upcoming challenges, stressing that the Lebanese people will stand united against extremism.
In a press conference held following the sub-security council of Tripoli, al-Mashnouq noted that former Prime Minister Saad Hariri informed him that the Hariri Foundation will repair all the damages in Jabal Mohsen, stressing that “the martyrs who died in the attacks, are martyrs of all Lebanon, the North and Tripoli.”
