Telecommunications Minister Boutros Harb stressed that describing the ongoing dialogue between the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces as a way to stall the presidential elections, is wrong, explaining that “the position of the Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea is clear regarding the need to hasten the election of a new president and abstaining from linking it to any dialogue or agreement.”
Following his meeting with Geagea, Minister Harb noted that he informed him that “the consultative meeting held at head of Kataeb party Amin Gemayel’s residence on Wednesday aims at expressing rejection to the presidential vacuum.”
In this regard, he stressed that “this consultative meeting is not and will not become a political bloc,” ruling out the possibility of holding a cabinet session anytime soon.
“This issue is complicated and requires thorough discussions,” he said.
