Journalist Ali Hamadeh says Syrian Intel. behind 2003 attack on Future TV

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) heard Tuesday the testimony of journalist Ali Hamadeh regarding the assassination of late Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Hamadeh stressed that Future TV was attacked, back in 2003, with missiles strapped to ticker clocks, adding he is convinced that the Syrian Intelligence services were behind the attack.

The television station, located near Beirut’s Raouche region, was attacked on June 15, 2003, resulting in the destruction of one of the newsrooms. No casualties were reported.

The attack was considered as a message to then-owner of the TV station, former premier Rafik Hariri.

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon was set up by the United Nations at the Lebanese government's request to try the alleged perpetrators of the 2005 bombing in which former Lebanese PM Hariri and 21 others were killed.
