Lebanese army arrests five suspects during raids in Tripoli
The Lebanese army issued on Thursday a communique in which it said that an army unit arrested five people in the northern city of Tripoli's al-Beddawi region.

The communiqué stated that during a raid on a sawmill and a grocery shop on Wednesday night, an army patrol arrested two suspects.

It found rifles, guns, ammunition, mortar shells, hand grenades, telecommunications equipment and other military gear at the two locations, the army added.

Also, the same army unit arrested three people for the obstruction of justice and for attacking troops, it said.

The arrestees and the seized items were handed over to the concerned authorities to act accordingly, the communiqué concluded by saying.
