Mufti Derian: Some activists seeking confrontations with security forces
Grand Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian stated on Tuesday that “certain members of the civil society are intent on violating public and private properties in a bid to flare up confrontations with security forces, although the demands are righteous."

In his speech on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, Mufti Derian called on Lebanese political factions to proceed with national dialogue sessions in order to come up with a solution for the presidential deadlock.

On another note, Derian stressed that Lebanon is suffering from political, economic, and social crises, explaining that the escalation of these conflicts will have a negative impact on the lives of the Lebanese people.
