Lebanese Premier Najib Mikati said that the military institution is above all political conflicts and it should be dealt with as such.
“All Lebanese are concerned with the well-being of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF)”, Mikati said following his meeting with Army Commander General Jean Kahwaji in the Grand Serail.
“Lebanon’s hardships have proven the LAF’s capacity to overcome petty sectarian and social disputes”, Mikati added.
Mikati also met with U.S. Ambassador Maura Connelly to discuss the overall regional situation, bilateral relations and Lebanon’s efforts to pass the national draft law to fight human trafficking in line with the International Human Rights Treaty ratified by Lebanon.
While at the Grand Serail, Mikati debated the electronic government act with State Minister for Administrative Development Mohammad Fneish.
