Store shut down for selling shoes adorned with religious symbols

A store in Furn al Chebbak was shut down Friday after citizens rallied outside in protest of selling shoes adorned with religious symbols, notably crosses and church domes.

The relevant items were pulled out from the store after a complaint was filed with the Catholic Information Center as well as the ISF.

The Head of the Catholic Information Center Abdo Abu Kasm said items were withdrawn in a bid to ease tension in the region, adding that the case is being handled by the judiciary.
