Mikati: We don’t want to marginalize any side

PM Najib Mikati confirms that the cabinet session will be held Wednesday afternoon, adding that things are on the right track and that the concerned parties have agreed on certain points during discussions held prior to the session.

Mikati said “Given that the issue is not disputed at the political level, but at the technical and financial levels, we do not want to marginalize any side.”

“The cabinet is working as a single team on a raft of propositions that would put the plan into effect with certain norms and standards that suit all sides”, Mikati said.

Asked about the possible withdrawal of the Free Patriotic Movement ministers from the Cabinet should the plan not be endorsed, Mikati responded “I have decided not to engage myself in unproductive debate and will not speculate on the outcome of the cabinet session”, adding “we will spare no effort to reach an agreement on the plan to provide electricity to all Lebanese.”
