Beirut Int’l airport rd passable
Regular traffic flows today on the otherwise busy and hampered Beirut International Road following the heightened security measures adopted by the country’s Internal Ministry.  A day in through the “security month” the road on Thursday seems clear of protests and burning tires, although traces of the latter remain.

Security Sources confirmed to LBCI that coordination is underway between the Lebanese Internal Security Forces and political parties prominent in the capital’s southern suburbs to ensure smooth traffic passages to and fro the airport.

Commuters of the International Road have been victims of protests and road blocks, as political protests accompanied by tire burning have taken control of the road leading to massive gridlocks.

Lebanon’s president Michel Sleiman vowed that the road will no longer be the stage of political feuds nor protests. This as the Interior Ministry kicked off Wednesday a month long of heightened security across the country.
