Sidon vegetable vendors end sit-in at Nejmeh Square

Sidon vegetable vendors end their sit-in located at Nejmeh Square and reopen the roads.

Vegetable vendors: we decided to end our protest at the request of the mayor who has allowed us to sell our products in the old souk.

On Sidon’s southern gates, vegetable vendors who initiated a demonstration Tuesday continued their sit-in today. They claim that their protest comes in retaliation to the decision taken by the City Council to uproot them from the old souk, moving them to the new one.

Sidon was crippled by a wave of protests overtaking the southern city, from the vegetable vendors, to Sheikh Ahmad Assir’s ongoing sit-in.
