Khazen to LBCI: decision to broaden investigations in Kwaykhat incident targets LAF prestige
In an interview with Nharkom Said on LBCI Tuesday, former MP Farid Haykal Khazen declared his stance regarding the LAF and its role in the country, saying that the LAF is a red line and is the only guarantee for national security.

“The LAF is the backbone of all remaining institutions in the country and should have a political umbrella,” he added.

Khazen went on to describe Cabinets decision to broaden the investigations into the Kwaykhat incident as unwise since it targets the “prestige of the military institution”. Khazen stressed on the need to place the case in the hands of dignified judges known for their credibility and impartiality.

Khazen rejected the referral of the case to the judicial council since the arrested belong to the military institution. He went on to call for the prevention of this case being used for electoral means in the country's upcoming parliamentary elections.
