Jumblatt: Dialogue is the only solution

National Struggle Front leader MP Walid Jumblatt reiterated on Monday that the Progressive Socialist Party is determined to endorse the national dialogue as “the only way to solve political disputes”. However, he called on concerned parties to disclose the circumstances of the telecommunications data case.       

In his weekly statement to al-Anbaa Daily, Jumblatt said that rumors surrounding assassinations and internal divisions may instigate political strife, causing severe negative repercussions.      

Jumblatt said the Progressive Socialist Party played a pioneering role in defending the south and its residents in the face of repeated Israeli aggressions.

Jumblatt stressed that the party also played a role in supporting the rights of workers. He expressed his desire that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah take a stance similar to the party’s and more in line with the wishes of the Syrian people”.         

“Isn’t it a weird and suspicious coincidence that Assef Chawkat was upgraded from Brigadier General to Major General on February 14, 2005, i.e. the day of the assassination of martyr Rafik Hariri?!”, he asked in his concluding remarks.
