Updates on the ranks and salaries issue

All concerned parties have committed to calm over the issue of raising the salaries of employees in the public sector. This in order to recommence dialogue between the trade union coordinating body, and the Ministerial Committee.           

Today those involved in the amendment of salaries are the staff of the public administrative sector,  the military and teachers.

While the coordinating body of trade union insists that the amendments include everyone without exception and without fragmentation, the Ministerial Committee equally insists on fairness and public interest.                   

LBCI has learned of the points that have so far been reached throughout the negotiations between the two, comprised of 6 out of 8 items.             

In this context, member of the coordination of trade unions Hanna Gharib said that the Commission wants to see the figures before they reach the Ministerial Committee, believing that their initiative has the character of a positive solution of the problem which in turn facilitates the adoption of the agreement set to be discussed on Thursday.      

In an interview with LBCI Gharib expressed disdain for the lack of commitment to amend the class fully and clearly, as well as the subject of retirees.                           
It should be noted that, following a recent meeting between the Body and the Ministerial Committee, tthe Director General of Finance has been asked to note changes on figures and their impact on their treasury to be followed by studies.
