Berri calls for distancing the electoral law from divisions

Speaker Nabih Berri discussed the current situation and recent issues with a band of his MPs in the recurrent Wednesday meeting. Many subjects overtook the agenda, with the electoral draft law approved by cabinet on Tuesday coming on top.

MPs quoted Berri as saying that “the discussions around the electoral draft law in the upcoming parliamentary session should respect the equitable representation and the country's national interests.” “The discussions should be isolated from all factors that increase divisions among the Lebanese”, he added.
