Geagea: Electoral law exposes March 8 intentions to have upper hand in elections
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said that the Taef Accord is the "sole protector of Lebanon and thus should be consolidated".

During a press conference held on Wednesday, Geagea said that the approved electoral draft law "exposes March 8's intentions to have the upper hand in the elections".

"The danger present in the approved electoral draft law will be most prevalent in the expat voting machine", he added.

Geagea stressed that immigrants remain sidelined from national decisions due to the government's verdict.

The LF leader described the 60's electoral law as "inefficient",adding, however, that the approved law fails to ensure true representation.

"We will continue demanding a law which will represent all districts fairly", he stressed.

Geagea highlighted ongoing coordination with the Future bloc on any propositions his party makes regarding an electoral law.

“The law that was agreed upon in Bkerke was based on the representation of smaller districts” he said, adding that a law to represent those "smaller districts" was agreed upon unanimously by all Christian factions including the FPM, Kataeb, LF and independent Christian figures.
