Hezbollah, Mokdad's family jointly deny Mokdad's association with the Resistance
Hezbollah denied having had an association with Hassan Salim Moqdad, following the report aired through Al-Arabiya news network which portrays the arrest of Moqdad by the Syrian army free as one of Hezbollah’s fighters.

For its part Moqdad’s family, in an interview with the LBCI, also denied Moqdad’s alleged relationship with Hezbollah, saying that he has been in Syria for over a year and a half, for financial reasons, heading for Jordan on several occasions, contradicting claims stated via Al-Arabiya’s report which said that Moqdad had entered Syria in August.

According to the family who had held a gathering at the town of Ruwais on Tuesday,  Moqdad was set to return to Lebanon a couple of days ago after having resolved most of his financial problems.  All contact was lost by Monday, the family added, the day his two brothers were supposed to head to the Syrian town of Kazzaz to pick him up.

Moqdad’s brother warned of the possibility of taking some action in the event his brother isn't released  within 24 hours.

"I do not wish to inflict injustice, but our brother has nothing to do with any party, and if he isn't released, any Syrian may be the target of our action" he stressed.
